What happened
Speaking at a corporate finance forum on 3 November, the chief executive of local civil engineering group KTC Group said Singapore's building and civil engineering sector is in an upcycle with at least three to five years of growth ahead. He pointed to the MRT network, Changi Airport Terminal 5, the integrated resort expansions, several hospital projects, and coastal protection and land reclamation works as enough to keep contractors busy for years. Asked about the influx of Chinese contractors, he said he is open to working with like-minded partners, as projects in Singapore are getting larger.
